June 2010 Russian Open World Program
|
Friendship Force Kansas, Inc. was fortunate to be asked to host 10 Russian Delegates, 2 facilitators, and 2 translators for the American Council's Open World Program. 6 other American clubs were asked this year, as well. In the Open World program, other countries are able to send delegates to learn about American life through grants provided through the Library of Congress which houses the Open World program. The theme for this experience was "Accountable Governance." We provided governmental experiences as well as media experiences because all of the delegates were journalists. From all reports, the Kansas program was highly successful. Delegates are to follow up the visit with special projects. We believe we have provided each delegate the information they need to have successful projects. See some of our wonderful experiences in our photos.
